4. SOUNDBITE: (English) Christie Brinkley, model:
“I want to thank you all for your support throughout this ordeal. It’s, for me, a very bittersweet moment because it really is the death of a marriage and, but it’s also, I think, a new start for all of us and I’m very pleased with the results today. I was here fighting for custody. I think a mother’s greatest fear is somebody trying to take her children, trying to take custody of her children and that’s what I was up against and so, I’ve won custody and decision making and that’s really all I’ve ever wanted.”
5. SOUNDBITE: (English) Robert Stephan Cohen, Brinkley’s lawyer:
“There’s an agreement and Mr. Cook gets good time with the children and he will be able to continue his very good relationship with the children and we’re very pleased overall with the results here and I think that we’ve all not had any sleep last night. We know we haven’t had any sleep last night.”
SOUNDBITE: (English) Christie Brinkley, model:
“We’ve had so little sleep, we don’t know we haven’t had any sleep.”

8. SOUNDBITE: (English) Christie Brinkley, model:
“The support has been so overwhelming, so heartwarming. It means so much to me. I’m so aware of going, you know, in and out everyday. Other women that are going through the same thing. And it’s tough. It’s really tough.”
9. SOUNDBITE: (English) Robert Stephan Cohen, Brinkley’s lawyer:
“They’re going to continue to communicate with respect to the children and they have and they will continue to do that and I think, these kids are doing great. They’re remarkable children from everything that I understand. Both Peter and Christie love them very much and they love their parents very much and now that this is over, I think that’s going to be great for them.”

CHRISTIE BRINKLEY SETTLES NEW YORK DIVORCE CASE
Christie Brinkley’s divorce trial came to an abrupt end on Thursday when lawyers acting on behalf of the supermodel reached an out-of-court settlement with her fourth husband, architect Peter Cook.
The deal gives Brinkley custody of the couple’s two children – ten year old Sailor, and 13 year old, Jack.
Before a mass of reporters, Brinkley described the ordeal as “bittersweet”.
“It really is the death of a marriage,” she said.
The former model explained her dismay at the thought of loosing her children.
“I think a mother’s greatest fear is somebody trying to take her children, trying to take custody of her children and that’s what I was up against and so, I’ve won custody and decision making and that’s really all I’ve ever wanted,” Brinkley noted.
The settlement was reached early in the morning around 6.15am (1015 GMT) after an all-night session that resolved all issues between Brinkley and Cook, Brinkley’s lawyer, Robert Stephan Cohen, told the court.
“We’ve all not had any sleep last night,” Cohen admitted.
Under the agreement, Brinkley will give Cook 2.1 million (m) USD but keeps 18 properties in the Hamptons that were at dispute.
