A bride in China’s Jiangsu Province has filed for divorce after the groom’s grandmother stole the spotlight on her wedding day.
During the couple’s wedding banquet last October, an admirer of the groom’s grandma crashed the banquet with a flower bouquet. He bent down on one knee and planted a kiss on the grandma’s cheek to display his affection. During the tea ceremony, a traditional ritual where the bride serves tea to the groom’s family, the crowd even encouraged the man to join the groom’s family.
The resentful bride filed for divorce afterwards, but the couple eventually worked things out after their marriage counselor persuaded the bride to clear the air with her grandmother-in-law.
